Animals

The Animals page is your shelter's roster — every animal in your care, with search, filtering, and a profile for each one.

The Animals page

The roster of every animal in your care.

Browse, search, and filter animals, open a profile to see full details and history, and intake new arrivals. What you can change depends on your role.

What you can do here

Find an animal

  1. Use the search box at the top to type a name, species, or identifier.
  2. Use the filters below it to narrow by species, status, intake type, or activity state.
  3. Click any column heading (Animal, Status, Location…) to sort the list.

The count above the table ("Showing 14 animals") updates as you filter, so you always know how many match.

Intake a new animal

  1. Click New intake in the top-right.
  2. Fill in the basics — name, species, and intake type are the minimum.
  3. Choose a location so the animal shows up in the right place.
  4. Save. The animal now appears in the roster and gets a unique identifier automatically.

Open an animal's profile

Click a row to open the full profile, where you can see and update demographics, identifiers, tags, weight, handling tier, and the animal's activity and survey history. What you're allowed to change depends on your role.
